Merryman reached out to Dave Guy at <a href="http://www.dgrperformance.com/">DGR Performance</a> in Dillsburg, Pennsylvania, to guide him with finishing this build. Then, Ronnie Reynolds at <a href="https://www.facebook.com/BFPRace/">Boosted Fabrication &amp; Performance</a> handled the most recent round of modifications.</h4>

<p>This 1985 Ford Mustang uses a cast-wheel Precision Turbo 76mm Ultra Street turbocharger in the passenger-side of the nose that feeds the RGR Engines 302ci four-valve modular engine. To build the foundation of the engine, a Ford Racing Boss block, <a href="https://www.scatcrankshafts.com/2022/about-crankshafts/">SCAT forged crankshaft</a>, <a href="https://oliverracingparts.com/">Oliver</a> connecting rods and custom <a href="https://www.jepistons.com/">JE</a> pistons were used.</p>
<p>Additionally, a quartet of custom <a href="https://www.compcams.com/">Comp Cams</a> turbo camshafts sit on <a href="https://www.cobramotorsusa.com/">Cobra</a> C heads, which have been CNC-ported, had new valves and fire rings installed, and been supplemented with GT500 camshaft followers and lash adjusters to maximize durability. The engine wears a stock lower Cobra intake manifold and sheet metal fabricated upper intake.</p></div>

Recently, a 482 CID Stack Injected Ford FE engine built by <a href="https://rpmperformance1.com/contact" target="_blank" rel="noopener">RPM Performance and Machine in Fort Walton, Florida,</a> was featured.</h4>

<p>When a customer came to RPM Performance &amp; Machine asking for a badass engine build, <a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CS_9TtGrbUM/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">RPM delivered</a> this 482 cid Ford FE engine with Borla Induction stack injection and Holley EFI.</p>
<p>According to Brad Simoneau, this is an engine that’s been a long time coming and anyone who stopped by the shop probably saw it. With the stacks it really raised eyebrows.</p>
<p>The engine started with a Bear 427 cid FE side oiler block, which got enlarged to 482 cubic inches because the customer of the build specifically reached out asking for a badass engine. That’s exactly what RPM delivered.</p>
<p>The 482 cid Ford FE features plenty of power thanks to the Borla Induction stack injection and Holley Terminator X EFI. Kyle and Brad called up Scat Crankshafts to get one of their forged <a href="/product-category/rotating-assemblies/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">4.250˝ stroke rotating assemblies</a> with Mahle pistons to fit into the new Bear block.</p>
<p>The engine recently got put on the engine dyno for break-in and horsepower numbers and made 610 hp and 609 lb.-ft. of torque!</p></div>

<p>A customer came to <a href="http://www.immengines.com/">IMM Engines</a> seeking an engine that could run 5-second 1/8th-mile times and build to 650 horsepower. Shop owner Brian Hafliger got to work on this ride with a Dart SHP block built out to 427 cubic inches with a <a href="https://www.scatcrankshafts.com/2022/about-crankshafts/">SCAT crank</a> and <a href="https://www.scatcrankshafts.com/2022/rods/">H-Beam rods</a>, <a href="https://www.cp-carrillo.com/">CP</a> pistons and <a href="https://www.trickflow.com/">Trick Flow</a> cylinder heads.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s what Hafliger had to say:</p>

<p>We used a SCAT 4340 crank with a 4.000˝ stroke that was internally balanced, as well as SCAT H-beam rods with ARP 2000 bolts. Most of the SCAT stuff will handle 1,200 horsepower and we’re below that. I’ve used their stuff a lot and I’ve never had a problem with it.</p>

<p>Hafliger delivered a 427 small block Ford capable of nearly 700 hp N/A and 1,000 hp on nitrous.</p></div>

<div class="style-scope ytd-channel-name">He mentions that a six-inch SCAT connecting rod is desirable for lower compression engines, especially when using hypertonic pistons, because there is slightly more horsepower caused by less piston side loading with less friction involved.  Also, Vizard suggests that if you want your engine to sound nice, a <a href="https://scatcrankshafts.com/2022/">SCAT</a> connecting rod will cut down piston slap noise. Plus, it comes with a bushed pin end, which allows for pistons to be installed and removed much easier.</div>

				<div class="et_pb_text_inner"><h4>A <a href="https://golenengineservice.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Golen Engine</a> 383-cube Gen-II LT1 built for the street was featured on <a href="https://www.chevyhardcore.com/news/dyno-video-golen-engines-383-cube-gen-ii-lt1-built-for-the-street/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Chevy Hardcore</a>! This build is running a <a href="https://www.scatcrankshafts.com/2022/about-crankshafts/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">SCAT Crankshafts 9000 series steel 3.750-inch-stroke crankshaft</a> and a set of <a href="https://www.scatcrankshafts.com/2022/rods/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">6.000-inch forged 4340 I-beam rods</a>, which were upgraded with ARP rod bolts.</h4>

<p>Despite the popularity of the Gen 1 SBC, LS platform and the direct-injected LT1 platform, Golen Engine is still working hard on their classic Gen-II LT1 builds for their customers (and we don&#8217;t blame them). For quite some time, they&#8217;ve offered a ready-to-go 383-cube street-oriented budget LT1 package (that runs SCAT Crankshafts parts).</p>

<p>This week it&#8217;s an LT1 NHRA Stock Eliminator Engine built by Brandon Page, owner of <a href="https://www.facebook.com/pageracingengines/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Page Racing Engines</a> in Roebuck, South Carolina.</p>

<p>&#8220;The build started out with a factory GM block,&#8221; Brandon Page says. &#8220;It is a two-bolt block. That&#8217;s what the customer had, so that&#8217;s what we&#8217;re working with. We did put ARP studs in to strengthen that up as much as possible.&#8221;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&#8220;We have to choose from an approved list the NHRA gives, so we picked within that list,&#8221; Page says. &#8220;We used JE pistons, a <a href="https://www.scatcrankshafts.com/2022/about-crankshafts/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">SCAT cast crank</a> and custom Callies rods made to NHRA specs. We then went through and checked the block and got it machined to match the pistons.&#8221;</p>
